Be Winter Ready in Your Waterproof Jacket
Want to be winter ready? It’s that time of year where we start looking for the perfect cycling waterproof jacket. One that will keep us warm and dry. There are so many to choose from, and at varying prices, no wonder cyclists find it hard to choose the best waterproof jacket…
After hours of investigating, window shopping and trying on what seemed like a thousand jackets, I found the Gore Oxygen 2.0 Active Shell Jacket (yes, a mouthful I know) to be the best jacket and value for money.
The jacket provided great ventilation as and when I needed it, with its features such as the main zipper and long zipped cuffs. Despite not having a hood or any pockets, the jacket has two side openings which allowed me easy access to my jersey pockets, and gave the jacket an overall sleek look. It comes in four colours, so there is definitely something that will suit everyone!
Whether you’re pedalling your way through the gloomy mornings or dark evenings you will love the high-vis details. There are plenty of reflective prints on the front and back and not to mention the large reflective cuffs. This jacket certainly made me feel much safer when I was riding during the busy peak hours.
Although it is a slightly expensive investment, the jacket proved to be unquestionably worth the price tag, as it offers excellent durability and maximum breathability. The price is also considerably reduced when making Tax and National Insurance Savings through Bike2Work Scheme.
Overall, I think the Oxygen 2.0 is the ideal jacket for cyclists like me who love cycling no matter what the weather. After all my research, I bought this amazing jacket from Wiggle, who are currently selling it for £199.99.
If you are looking to pay slightly less, then I would recommend either of the following two jackets. Although not as good as the Oxygen 2.0, they are still great jackets and are reasonably priced!
Specialized Element RBX Pro Jacket- £64.99
Altura Pocket Rocket Waterproof Cycling Jacket – £39.99
