Sky Ride Event
It’s the 6th year of the Sky Ride campaign and it couldn’t be any better.
Thousands of people, of all ages and abilities are taking part in their local Sky Ride again this year. And so will the Bike2work team, when the Sky Ride comes to our city, in Liverpool, on the 7th of September.
Sky Ride is a national campaign launched by Sky and the British Cycling association. The event aims to promote the health benefits of cycling whether it’s for recreation, to exercise and keep fit or to Bike 2 Work!
The Sky Ride takes place across 15 towns and cities of the UK and is a traffic-free event that literally takes over the whole of the town or city centre roads allowing participants to cycle safe and free of traffic congestions, noise and car pollution.
This summer we have seen continuous major events taking part all over the country, especially cycling events, starting with the Tour de France 2014 that started-off from the city of Leeds, the Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow, followed by the Sky Ride on-going event, and in anticipation of the Tour of Britain starting on the 7th of September in Liverpool and finishing in London.
The Sky Ride is a free-to-enter event, with many of Great Britain’s cycling champions taking part in it, along with well-known celebrities. The designed routes are filled with surprises and challenges along the way and expert cycling coaches are available on site to provide help and advice.
So take the opportunity and look out for the Sky Ride event coming to your city. See the roads of your city in new light and experience the benefits of taking on cycling for everyday commuting.
